I agree the MUG is the correct place to discuss it, but I think that the
devlopment of the specification should take place within the MHEG (WG
12) working group. I would not like to see MUG competing with WG 12 but
co-operating, in the sense that the user group can do fast prototyping,
testing, verifaction, and implementation work, while the development of
the specification should be done within the scope of the WG.

But shouldn't that body be an ISO one: SC 29/WG12?

Because of their interest in this work, I wonder if the japanese NB would
supply an editor or co-editor for WG 12 sponsored work developing some of
these profiles.
