Thanks for your answer. I think we agree on most of the
points now.

On the issue of the object reference for the source of a
synchronous event getting misinterpreted across a scene transition,
I now agree that this cannot happen. It could only occur if the
event data structure doesn't include a fully resolved reference
to the source object. Maybe a sentence could be added to section
53 along the lines of: "The event source always uniquely identifies
the object that generates the event, even when that object is no
longer available".

I suppose the active application might have links that fire on
IsDeleted events to monitor transitions between scenes. This could
be useful, I guess.

On a completely unrelated note, has anyone thought of a use for
cloned Links?
