I have received some requests about the potential IRC utilization during
the upcoming AdHoc in Berlin.
The original posting was:

I would like you to consider that IRC event as an experimental thing. I
have no clue how that works out, but it is definitvely worth a try.
Perhaps a kind of regulary virtual experts forum can be established...
Please find some more hints on that happening below.
IRC is a text-chat technology. You need a specific client for that.
Please check available tools for your host, personally I will use mIRC
for PC-Win95, but that does not matter. Please do not ask for
installation guides etc :-) Please ask your local guru. We initate the
session on the host mentioned in the original posting some time before
the scheduled time. Others can connect then. There will be a log of the
session at
http://www.fokus.gmd.de/ovma/mug/mtf/irc-log/%23mtf.log
So, people who can not attend can read later, or they can use a WWW
browser to see what happens in realtime by pressing the "reload" button
from time to time.
The idea is that the MTF reports about some issues, and perhaps a
discussion starts. I will _try_ to moderate that. Lets see how it works.
Of course we hope that the discussion continues when the MTF is away for
the social event, and we can grab the results in the morning... :-)
We have two chat sessions. The first is not so good for our colleagues
in Asia. I am sorry for that, but you still have the log, and the other
opportunity, where the US folks (if any) have no good chances. The
session will last some time for the MTF folks, at least 30 minutes, but
not more than 90 minutes. So, if you come late you are perhaps alone.
Another idea of that session is of course to have some fun.

We will try to offer a IRC test session on TUESDAY, 10th at 17:00h MET
via irc.fu-berlin.de:6667. Join #mtf for the test.

So I am looking forward to meet you in our virtual forum.
