you may remember that the upcoming SC29WG12 meeting here in
Berlin comes together with a workshop on MHEG issues. This
was decided on the recent ISO meeting in Saariselka. You may
want to refer to http://www.mheg.org/ for details.
The "Workshop on MHEG" is open for the public. Restrictions
apply only for the following SC29WG12 meeting: You have to be
a official delegate with accreditation from your national body,
i.e. BSI in UK, AFNOR is France, DIN in Germany, etc.

The intention of the workshop is to bring developers and
standardisation folks together, and to provide a forum for
technical disussion and product presentation.
The following tentative agenda is suggested. Please note that
the agenda will change on short notice, depending on the available
delegates and presentations. It would be possible to fill the
whole day with GMD FOKUS stuff, but this is not the
idea of the workshop. Instead, I would like to invite developers
and folks who are active MHEG users to let me know about their
potential contribution. We will find a suitable place for a talk.
Suggested contributions may cover: MHEG in UK and elsewhere, DVB-MHP,
Authoring tools and Application examples, STB Hardware, Java
Integration, Engine developments, conformance testing, tutorials, etc.
We will have PCs and LCD projector available, as well as overhead
projectors. Please let me know if you want to make a presentation, for
further planing. Commercial presentations are explicitly invited.

of restaurants or pubs for a late-nite come-together.
As mentioned above, the participation for the Workshop is free
for the public, there is no fee. However, we would apprechiate
an informal registration in order to provide sufficient chairs
for the participants :-) Only registered visitors can join for
lunch in GMD FOKUS "restaurant".
We intend to distribute a more detailed agenda when available.
We will anounce a WWW site via the MHEG Users Group with
advertising material when available.
