As you know, / means a root directory in the UNIX file system. In that
sense, the second shorthand notation is easy to understand. On the other
hand, the second full notation, where / means a relative path, is a little
bit tricky.
Then, I would say the second full notation should be forbidden, or take the
Japanese solution.
