IMHO, as there is no Provisions of use on this parameter, and it is
specified as a Generic Integer, I would consider any integer value
(including negative ones as valid) but frankly speaking and from an author
point of view, I would certainly not expect all engines to support negative
nor null values for width and height.

If you can do it with no headache, then, great, do it ! But if it is too
much hassle to support this, I would take the absolute value if I were you.
(Regarding 0, it seems not too hard to support as there is simply nothing
to do)

That's true, but to my understanding, I would use the LineArt internal
attributes (LineWidth, LineStyle, RefLineColor) to draw a line around any
of the shapes you mentioned and use the RefFillColor for filling the
shapes. If line is not needed, an author can still specified a lineWidth of
0.
