Browers that support scripting, such as JavaScript, have object models,
although these are incomplete, in that they do not give access to ALL
elements. The later versions which support "Dynamic HTML" give the
programmer much more access.

The W3 consortium is working on a Document Object Model.

I don't know about the original poster, but one thing I want to be able to
do is convert MHEG scenes into HTML pages, and HTML to MHEG. Or perhaps
generate them both from a common source. I thinking of broadcasters who
provide the same, dynamic information both on Teletext and the Web.

Generating HTML can be quite easy. It would be interesting to see how MHEG
could be mapped across. A big question is what version of HTML to code.

For an reasonably accessable website, it should work with IE3 and Navigator
3, but we must not forget WebTV and NetStation. Sticking to HTML4 would
make the job at lot more straightforward in terms of positioning elements
and interactivity.

Perhaps the easiest way is to just use a Java MHEG engine on the website!
