It seems you wanted to compare object references from 2 different scenes. I
think this should not bread any engine. Which one did you use ?

But I think your problem is rather due to the fact that you want to assign
an object ref from another inactive scene in the original scene. This is
not allowed I think.

You can keep a ref to another scene's object if the var was set in that
scene, but cannot do it directly from another.

Other, please confirm, or infirm...
